About Helen

Originating in Yorkshire, a cup of tea, or should I say a ‘cuppa’, has been a daily tradition since my childhood. It’s a drink so familiar to me, providing comfort and reassurance.

My initial adventure with loose leaf tea began as an art student when I fell in love with a sweet little cast-iron teapot. It introduced me to the superior taste and mindful preparation of loose tea as compared to teabags. This teapot remains part of my collection nearly thirty years later!

Currently, I use multiple teapots and cup filters tailored to various types of tea. I love sourcing contemporary teaware for other people to fall in love with. It enhances the tea making experience for customers and supports those exploring or rediscovering loose tea.

I established Cuppa & Co firstly, to address the limited options available to tea drinkers at cafés and restaurants. While many venues offer extensive coffee menus, their tea selections are often narrow and sometimes poorly prepared. Another reason was to appeal to a younger audience and introduce them and everyone really to better quality tea. 

Lastly, I am interested in consuming food and drink that is as natural as it can be. I strongly dislike ‘fake’ additives and flavourings that are too sweet or too strong and are primarily there to overpower and mask poor quality ingredients. All my blends are made using natural flavours and there are no added sugars or any enhancing additives. The pure ingredients are there to speak for themselves and support your health.

Tea and herbal blends can evoke a wide range of sensations—it can be invigorating, calming, cleansing, filling, refreshing, reviving, soothing, warming, and cooling… My tea packaging uses descriptive words to artistically reflect each blend's profile and adds a touch of playfulness - hope you find these fun.
