About This Blend

Japanese Gyokuro shade-grown green tea dates back to Japan’s Edo period (1603-1868) and is still made to the same exacting standards. Hand picked in small batches from the 1st flush of youngest, smallest leaves produced during March and April. A skilled traditional process of shading before plucking produces its unique character. The tea is not oxidised only lightly bruised and steamed to produce a tea so beautifully pure.

Tasting Notes

Light, refreshing umami tea flavour with a vegetal taste. As with most green tea, to avoid a bitter taste, brew at a low temperature and remove leaves from the water after a few minutes as indicated in our brewing guide.
